About Chances Backgammon

Bringing passions for craftsmanship and backgammon together

Chances Backgammon is the brainchild of award-winning backgammon board designer Guy Haslam. While living on Lancashire’s Fylde Coast, Guy started his backgammon foray as an impassioned player, who wanted to turn a passion into a thriving board making business and backgammon players club. The Bone Club brand was born in 2009, with the aim of delivering affordable champion size boards to entry players of the game. The boards are hand-finished and come in a range of ready-to-play colours.

Bone Club delivers a series of backgammon club nights across the North West and at some well-known private clubs in London. The club night gives impassioned players the chance to come together, in a casual environment, and play the game they love to competition level.

Following the success of Bone Club and engaging with Bone Club members, it became clear there was an opportunity in the market for a bespoke luxury backgammon board provider. Combining his passion for designing and hand crafting boards, Guy introduced Chances as the brand to build hand-made luxury boards for backgammon aficionados all over the world.

Chances Backgammon gives you the very best in bespoke, handcrafted, luxury backgammon boards, made from the highest quality wood and leather. We work closely with our customers, using our experience and knowledge of the best materials and the build and design process. This ensures our customers receive a unique, one-of-a-kind luxurious backgammon board, which exceeds their expectations every time.

I confirm I have taken delivery of this 5 colour tournament backgammon set with 1.75″ leather inlaid brass checkers and numbered dice. It has exceeded my expectations and is a beautiful set to play on, where the checkers & cube have a very nice weighting or ‘heft’. The communication process has also been first class as we worked through the leather colours. I have no hesitation in recommending Guy as your board provider, given the professional approach from start to ‘reveal’

Not only was the backgammon board an amazing piece of carftsmenship but the process of commissioning and being involved in the building of the board was wonderful. Guy sent photos and updates of the build and it was so amazing to see the board being built.
